Broccoli Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (12 1/2 oz.) cans chicken broth
    1 bunch fresh broccoli, washed, trimmed and leaves removed
    3 c. milk
    1 c. chopped cooked ham
    1 c. half and half
    2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
Preparation
    Pour chicken broth into a large saucepan. Add broccoli; bring to a boil. Cover and cook for 10 to 15 minutes, until tender. Remove broccoli from the broth; drain and place on cutting board to cool. To broth, add milk, ham, half and half, Swiss cheese and butter. Chop the broccoli and add to the chowder base. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Yields 2 1/2 quarts of chowder.
