Christmas Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 c. applesauce
4 eggs
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 lb. small gumdrops
1 c. raisins
1 c. dates
1 c. nuts
2 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugars.
Add eggs and beat well.
Put spice and soda in flour, add to creamed mixture with applesauce, then add gumdrops, nuts, dates and raisins.
Bake in loaf pans for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
