Almond Cherry Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 boned chicken breasts
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 (16 oz.) can red tart cherries
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. almond flavoring
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. almonds
    oil (for sauteing)
    buttermilk for dipping
Preparation
    Dip chicken in buttermilk, then in salted flour.
    Saute in hot oil until browned on both sides.
    Let chicken drain on paper towels.
    Drain oil from skillet; add sugar and cornstarch to skillet.
    With wire whisk, stir in cherry juice and almond flavoring.
    Cook until thickened.
    Place chicken in greased baking dish; pour cherry sauce over chicken.
    Sprinkle with almonds and bake in a 400\u00b0 oven for 10 to 15 minutes.
    Serves 4.
