12 Hour Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head cabbage, shredded
    2 large red onions, thinly sliced into rings
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. oil
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. red wine vinegar
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Alternate layers of cabbage and onions in bowl.
    Sprinkle with 3/4 cup sugar; do not mix!
    Bring vinegar, oil, 2 tablespoons of sugar, celery seed and salt to a boil in saucepan.
    Pour over layers; do not mix.
    Chill for 12 hours or longer.
    Drain to serve.
