Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. oats
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 tsp. butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oats.
    Let stand 20 minutes.
    Cream the shortening, butter and sugars.
    Add eggs and flour.
    Add soda, cinnamon and salt.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Add oats and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
    Bake in greased 13 1/2 x 9-inch pan for 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Cool.
