Festive Fudge-Filled Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. quick oats
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 lb. M&M's
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. butter, softened
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
    1/2 c. coconut (optional)
Preparation
    Mix oats, flour, nuts, sugar, soda and salt.
    Cream in the butter.
    Reserve 1 1/2 cups and press remaining mixture into a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch pan and bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Melt shortening and M&M's together (save out 1 cup M&M's).
    Remove this from heat and add milk; mix well.
    Spread chocolate mixture over baked crust.
    Do not spread to edges.
    Combine reserved crumb mixture, coconut and M&M's.
    Pour this mixture over chocolate in pan.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes until light brown.
