Quebec Maple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. vegetable shortening
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. plus 3 Tbsp. maple syrup
    1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. milk
    2 drops maple extract
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. pecans
Preparation
    Beat the shortening and the sugar. Add the flour, salt and baking powder. Then add the liquid ingredients. Whip until smooth. Add the pecans. Pour into a greased and floured pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes. Top with Buttercream Frosting.
