Barren Molasses Biscuits - cooking recipe

3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1 Tbsp. water
1 c. molasses
1/3 c. milk
Preparation

Combine flour, salt, shortening and baking powder to a fine consistency.
Add dissolved baking soda to molasses.
Beat with a spoon until light in color and foamy.
Add molasses mixture to dry ingredients.
Add 1/3 cup milk; stir.
Mix and roll out in desired thickness.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
