Spoon Bread(Serves 6 To 8) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. corn meal
1 c. cold water
2 c. scalded milk
2 egg yolks, well beaten
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. double-action baking powder
2 Tbsp. melted shortening or salad oil
2 egg whites, beaten stiff
Preparation

Combine corn meal and cold water.
Add scalded milk and cook over boiling water until thickened (about 5 minutes).
Stir occasionally.
Combine egg yolks, salt, baking powder and melted shortening or salad oil.
Add to corn meal mixture and mix well. Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry.
Fold into batter.
