Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shredded coconut
2 eggs
1/2 c. nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. uncooked rolled oats
2 c. flour (use 1/2 c. of it to flour dates)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 lb. dates, cut up
Preparation

Mix all ingredients.
Drop by teaspoons on greased baking sheet.
Bake 20 minutes at 300\u00b0.
Keeps well.
