Ingredients

1 c. shortening (soft)
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 c. chunky peanut butter
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. Quaker oats (Quick or Old-fashioned)
Preparation

Beat shortening and sugars together.
Add eggs and peanut butter; beat well.
Stir together flour, soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
Stir in oats.
Shape to form 1-inch balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets; with tines of fork, press to make crisscrosses on each.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
Makes 6 dozen.
