Old-Fashioned Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 medium baking apples
2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. water
1/4 c. butter
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Pare apples; set aside.
Put flour, baking powder and salt together in bowl.
Cut in shortening until it makes small particles.
Sprinkle milk over mixture and press together lightly, working dough only enough to hold together.
Roll dough and cut into 6 squares.
Place apples in each.
Pat, cover, fasten and place in deep baking dish or pan.
Pour sauce over.
