Jamaica Pepper Pot - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. chopped spinach
    2 qt. soup meat or neck bones
    2 slices bacon
    1 lb. pre-cooked shrimp, peeled
    1 doz. okra, sliced
    1 onion, minced
    1/2 lb. sweet potatoes, diced
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1 hot pepper
    2 green onions, minced
    salt and pepper to taste
    other herbs and spices (may be added if desired)
Preparation
    Place meat and\tbacon in large soup pot.
    Add water and boil until meat\tis
    tender.
    Then add spinach, sweet potatoes and spices.
    Simmer
    until sweet potatoes are cooked, 15 to 20 minutes.
    Add shrimp and simmer for 15 minutes longer.
    May be served with or without the soup meat.
