Honey Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. honey
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Cream shortening.
    Add and blend in sugar.
    Beat in honey and eggs until mixture is light.
    Mix and sift dry ingredients and add to honey mixture alternately with hot water.
    Pour into a greased 9-inch loaf pan and bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Reduce heat to 350\u00b0 and bake for 10 to 15 minutes longer.
