Mom'S Red Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    2 unbeaten eggs
    2 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Combine dry ingredients.
    Add dry ingredients with 1 cup buttermilk alternately.
    Stir in vanilla. Pour in boiling water all at once and stir until combined.
    Bake in 3 layers at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or sheet cake for 45 minutes. Top with favorite frosting.
