Banana Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. nut meats, chopped
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. mashed ripe bananas
    2 c. flour, sifted
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Beat eggs; add to shortening and sugar.
    Press bananas through a sieve and add along with lemon juice.
    Blend into cream mixture.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together; mix into banana mixture. Add nuts.
    Bake in a greased loaf pan for about 1 hour.
    Makes 1 (1 pound) loaf.
