Onion Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sliced sweet or red onions, cut 1/4-inch
    3 large egg whites, lightly beaten
    1/3 c. and 2 tsp. plain dried bread crumbs
    1 1/2 oz. yellow corn meal (about 1/4 c.)
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    1/4 tsp. paprika
    1/8 tsp. ground red pepper
Preparation
    To steam onions in large skillet or wok, bring 1-inch of water to a boil, position a steamer rack just above water.
    Separate onion slices into rings and place on rack.
    Cover and steam until rings are tender, 4 to 5 minutes.
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Spray 2 large baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray.
