Grandma Armstrong'S Loaf Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. warm water
    2 pkg. yeast
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 c. milk
    2 or 3 Tbsp. Crisco
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    flour
Preparation
    Combine warm water, yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar.
    Let set until foamy and bubbly; set aside.
    Scald milk and Crisco.
    Dissolve 1/4 cup sugar and salt in this.
    Let cool.
    When this is just warm, add 1/2 cup cold water.
    Stir in enough flour until thick like pancake batter.
    Add yeast mixture to this.
    Keep adding flour until the dough is not sticky.
    Knead.
    Let dough rise 2 times, kneading each time. Place dough in 2 greased pans and let dough rise again.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 2 loaves.
