Congo Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. melted shortening
    1 box light brown sugar
    2 3/4 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    3 eggs
    1 pkg. chocolate chips (small)
    1 c. nuts (pecans)
Preparation
    Mix sugar, flour, salt and baking powder into a large mixing bowl.
    Add shortening, vanilla and eggs.
    Mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon; then add chocolate chips and nuts.
    Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
    Bake 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Let cool and cut into 2-inch squares.
