Molasses Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3 c. plain flour
1 c. buttermilk
ginger and other spices to taste

Preparation

Mix Crisco, sugar and molasses.
Sift flour, soda and salt. Add alternately with milk to first mixture. Add spices and vanilla. Bake in layer pans.
Frost with favorite frosting.
