Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. light Karo syrup
    1 cube butter
    1/4 c. water
    1 c. peanuts or nut meats
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Butter 3 pie tins.
    In a medium saucepan, mix sugar, Karo syrup, butter and water.
    Cook until it forms a hard ball in cold water (10 to 12 minutes).
    Add nuts and cook until the nuts are the right color.
    Take off from fire and add vanilla and soda; stir and pour into pans.
    Let cool.
