Sausage - Sauerkraut Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (1 lb.) roll Polish sausage
4 Washington apples
1 tsp. caraway seed
2 1/2 c. sauerkraut
3 Tbsp. bacon fat
Preparation

Cut sausage into 1/2-inch thick slices; arrange half the sausage in bottom of greased casserole.
Peel and core apples; cut into crosswise slices.
Arrange half the apples over sausage.
Add caraway seed to sauerkraut; spread over apple mixture.
Arrange remaining sausage slices on sauerkraut; top with remaining apple slices.
Pour bacon fat over top.
Cover.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
Yield:
4 servings.
