Cherry Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (16 oz.) can tart cherries
1/2 c. sugar
7 tsp. cornstarch
1 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
1/8 tsp. almond extract (optional)
red food coloring (optional)
8-inch double pie crust
Preparation

Drain cherry juice into saucepan.
Add sugar, cornstarch, butter, salt, almond extract and coloring.
Cook, stirring constantly, until thick and clear.
Remove from heat.
Stir in cherries.
Pour into unbaked bottom crust and top with lattice top crust.
Bake 10 minutes in a preheated 425\u00b0 oven, then at 375\u00b0, bake for 25 to 35 minutes until golden brown.
