Beef Stroganoff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 to 3 lb. beef tenderloin tips or round steak, cut into bite-size pieces
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 c. cream of mushroom soup
    1/2 c. water
    1 (8 oz.) can mushrooms
    1/2 pt. sour cream
    curled egg noodles or rice
Preparation
    Brown beef pieces in small amount of oil.
    When meat is brown, season with salt, pepper and onion salt.
    Add soup and water; simmer gently for 40 to 50 minutes or until meat is tender.
    Fold in mushrooms and sour cream; bring to serving temperatures.
    If thinner gravy is desired, thin with dry, light red wine.
    Serve over hot noodles or rice.
    Serves 4 to 6.
