Mexican Date Roll - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    3/4 c. evaporated milk
    2 Tbsp. Karo
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 c. nuts
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Place sugar, salt, milk and Karo in deep pan.
    Heat and stir until it boils.
    Boil to soft ball stage.
    Remove from heat.
    Add butter, vanilla and dates.
    Cool.
    Beat until creamy. Add nuts. Pour into pan and cut in squares.
