Santa'S Thumbprints - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. butter flavored Crisco
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 Tbsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. Quaker oats (quick or old fashioned; uncooked)
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
1 3/4 c. finely chopped nuts or chocolate flavored decors
2/3 c. fruit preserves
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Beat Crisco and sugar until fluffy.
Beat in egg and vanilla.
Add combine oats, flour and salt; mix well. Form 1-inch balls and roll in nuts.
Place 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Press centers with thumb; fill with preserves.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove to wire rack; cool completely.
Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.
