Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. peeled, tart apples, sliced
2/3 c. water
3/4 c. sugar or to taste
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

Combine all ingredients.
Cook until the apples are tender, 10 to 15 minutes.
Combine 1/4 cup water with 2 tablespoons cornstarch.
Stir into apple mixture.
Cool to room temperature before filling unbaked pie shell and topping with a crust.
Bake at 420\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
