Meat Ball Oven Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef
2 Tbsp. chopped onion
2 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
1/4 c. corn meal
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. chili powder (optional)
1/2 c. milk
1 slightly beaten egg
1/4 c. flour
2 c. tomato juice
2 Tbsp. shortening
3 potatoes, halved
6 carrots, halved
12 to 18 small onions
salt

Preparation

Combine meat, onion, green pepper, corn meal, seasonings, milk and egg.
Mix thoroughly and form into 12 balls.
Sprinkle with flour and brown in hot shortening.
Place in 4-quart casserole.
