Easy English Toffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg yolk
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. white sugar
    1 c. real butter
    2 c. flour
    12 oz. chocolate chips
    chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugars and egg yolk.
    Add flour and blend. Press dough into 9 x 13-inch lightly greased pan.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Drop chocolate chips on top; let melt and spread chips evenly.
    Sprinkle with nuts, if desired.
    Cool, then cut into diagonal squares.
