Pantry Shelf Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    cucumbers, washed but not trimmed
    4 c. vinegar
    4 Tbsp. pickling spices
    2 c. water
    2 1/4 tsp. alum
    6 c. sugar
Preparation
    Pack whole cucumbers into gallon jar as tight as possible. Mix other ingredients and pour over cucumbers.
    Close jar and tape lid securely with masking tape to seal.
    Let stand at room temperature for 3 weeks.
