Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1/4 c. buttermilk
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Beat together sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Sift flour, salt and baking soda together.
    Add slightly beaten eggs to the cream mixture; beat completely.
    Add sifted flour mixture to cream mixture alternating with buttermilk.
    Add vanilla. Stir in 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts.
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Pour mixture into floured tube pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 55 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched.
