Cherry Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. each butter and solid vegetable shortening
    1/2 tsp. each vanilla and almond extracts
    2 eggs
    3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 to 3/4 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    In mixing bowl, combine sugar, butter, shortening, eggs, baking powder, salt and extracts.
    Beat, scraping bowl occasionally, until well blended.
    Stir in flour, mixing well. Spoon 2/3 of batter into 9-inch greased square pan.
    Evenly spread pie filling over batter.
    Using tablespoon, drop remaining batter over the top (pie filling will not be completely covered).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes or until done.
