Poppy Form Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 (12 oz.) can poppy seed filling
    4 eggs, separated
    1 c. sour cream
    1 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Cream the shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add poppy seed filling, then egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Blend in vanilla and sour cream.
    Sift together the flour, soda and salt and add gradually to poppy seed mixture, beating well.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Pour into greased 9 or 10-inch pan which has bottom lined with wax paper.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.
    Cool 5 minutes.
    Confectioners sugar can be sifted on cake.
