Russian Cream From My Sister Alice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 envelope unflavored gelatin
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. whipping cream or half and half
    1 1/2 c. sour cream
    1 tsp. vanilla
    strawberries or other fruit (I use peaches or Kiwi fruit)
Preparation
    In a small pan, blend together the sugar and unflavored gelatin.
    Add water and
    mix well.\tLet stand about 5 minutes, then bring to
    a
    full
    rolling
    boil, stirring.
    Remove sugar mixture from heat and pour\tin
    the cream.\tIn a bowl, mix the sour cream with
    vanilla, then gradually, smoothly beat in the hot sugar mixture.
    Pour
    into\tcasserole
    dish
    and cover and chill until set.\t(At
    least 4 hours or as long as overnight.) Serve the cream with the fruit.
