Ingredients

1 1/4 c. soft butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 c. sugar
5 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs and beat until fluffy.
Stir together dry ingredients.
Add dry ingredients to butter, sugar and egg mixture, alternating with milk, until well blended.
If dough is sticky, add flour to handle.
Roll 1/4-inch thick on well floured pastry cloth or wax paper.
Using well floured cookie cutters, cut out desired shapes and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Place bake-on decorations and bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 minutes. Makes about 100 cookies.
