Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. sour milk
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. diced apples
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening; add sugars gradually.
    Add eggs and beat well.
    Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt; add alternately to creamed mixture with the sour milk to which has been added the soda.
    Fold in apples.
    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 15-inch pan.
    Spread topping.
    Bake for 40 to 50 minutes at 350\u00b0.
