German Potato Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. white vinegar
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
green onions, chopped (may use regular onions)
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
pepper to taste
6 slices chopped bacon, fried and crumbled
6 to 8 potatoes, cooked in jackets
Preparation

Mix vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper and onions; let stand.
Cook potatoes in peelings.
When done, cool slightly; peel and slice. Cook bacon until crisp; drain.
Turn heat down under bacon drippings.
Add cornstarch to vinegar mixture.
Stir well and add to bacon drippings.
Stir until thick and transparent.
If too thick, add more water.
Add bacon crumbs to sauce.
Pour hot sauce over sliced, peeled potatoes (may add sweet pickle vinegar as part of vinegar).
