Ingredients

1 c. shortening or 2 cubes margarine
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 small can crushed pineapple
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt (omit if you use margarine)
chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, pineapple, vanilla and nuts.
Sift flour, soda and salt together.
Add to creamed mixture. Mix well and drop by small spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet. Place about 2 inches apart.
Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
Have ready a thin powdered sugar icing and frost while warm.
