Ingredients

1/4 lb. margarine
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 (1 lb. pkg.) dates, chopped
pinch of salt
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. Rice Krispies
1/2 c. chopped pecans
coconut or powdered sugar
Preparation

Melt margarine over low heat.
Blend in brown sugar, dates, salt and egg.
Add vanilla.
Cook for 6 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Add Rice Krispies and chopped pecans.
When cool enough to handle, roll into balls and then roll each cookie in powdered sugar or coconut.
Yields 40 cookies.
