Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1 c. butter or margarine (soft)
    3/4 c. milk
    3 eggs, whole
    1 egg yolk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Sift flour with baking powder,\tsalt
    and sugar in large bowl of electric mixer.\tAdd
    shortening,
    milk,
    vanilla
    and almond extract.
    Beat on #3 speed\tfor
    2 minutes.
    Stop mixer, scrape beaters.
    Add three eggs and
    extra
    yolk all at once to mixture. Beat two minutes
    longer.
    Scrape bowl while beating. Line well greased and lightly
    floured
    10-inch
    tube
    pan with chopped nuts and cherries.
    Add batter.\tBake
    in 375\u00b0 oven for 50 minutes or until cake tester
    comes
    out
    clean.
    Unmold and cool.
    Yields about 12 large wedges.
