Rock Candy - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. water
2 c. sugar
food coloring
Preparation

Heat water until it just starts to boil.
Continue gentle heating, add sugar gradually and stir until all sugar has dissolved.
Keep on stirring.
Carefully pour into a tall jar.
Tie string to pen or pencil and tie paper clip at other end.
Tie so paper clip almost touches bottom.
Dip the string in solution. Roll the string in dry sugar so that sugar sticks to string. Return string to solution and let it stand undisturbed (3 to 10 days).
Wrap up in whatever you want for Christmas.
