Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. margarine
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, separated
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. molasses
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 c. boiling water
Preparation

Cream margarine.
Add sugar gradually, beating until fluffy. Add beaten egg yolks.
Sift all the dry ingredients and add alternately with the molasses and water in which soda was dissolved.
Beat egg whites and fold them gently into the other mixture.
Bake in a 14 x 9-inch or 11 x 8-inch baking dish or pan. Grease and flour pan/dish.
If using pan, bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
If using baking dish, reduce the oven temperature to 325\u00b0.
Good served alone or with whipped topping or a lemon sauce.
