Chestnut-Mushroom Stuffing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1 1/2 c. sliced water chestnuts
    2 c. butter
    5 qt. bread cubes (2 large loaves)
    4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    In a large skillet, cook and stir the onion, chestnuts and mushrooms in butter. Cook until onion is tender. Add this to 1/3 of the bread cubes.
    In a very large bowl, mix this and all other ingredients.
    Toss!
    Stuff turkey just before roasting.
    Makes 5 quarts; enough for a 20 to 24 pound turkey.
