Donna'S Buttery Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients in bowl.
    Cut in shortening.
    Stir in milk all at once.
    Round up into a ball and place on floured surface.
    Roll out or pat until 3/4-inch thick.
    Cut into rounds or squares.
    Spread top with soft butter.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 in ungreased pan for 12 minutes or until bottom is browned.
