Chocolate Pinwheels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 (1 oz.) square unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
Preparation
    Cream butter.
    Gradually add sugar and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy.
    Combine flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture; blend well.
    Divide dough in half.
    Stir chocolate into 1/2; roll chocolate dough between 2 sheets of waxed paper to form a 16 x 6-inch rectangle.
    Repeat with vanilla dough.
    Invert chocolate dough on vanilla dough and peel off paper.
    Press gently with rolling pin.
    Roll up dough as for jellyroll.
    Wrap in wax paper and chill overnight.
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Slice 1/4-inch thick.
    Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool.
    Store in airtight container.
    Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
