Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. dark cane syrup
    1 c. cooking oil
    3 eggs
    2 c. all purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/8 c. (2 Tbsp.) boiling water
    1 tsp. cloves
    2 Tbsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Mix sugar, syrup, and oil; add eggs. Dissolve soda in boiling water and add to sugar mixture. Combine flour and spices; add to sugar mixture. Add 1 c. boiling water; mix well. Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes. While still hot, sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Cut into squares when cooled.
