Never Fail Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. melted shortening
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. ginger
1 c. hot water
Preparation

Combine sugar, molasses and shortening.
Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with water, beating until smooth.
Bake in greased 6 x 10-inch pan in a moderate 350\u00b0 oven for 45 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream, if desired.
