Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Cream butter, shortening and both sugars.
    Add egg and vanilla.
    Mix dry ingredients together.
    Add to creamed ingredients slowly.
    Chill dough 1 hour.
    Roll out on lightly floured surface and cut into shapes.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until done, not brown, approximately 8 minutes.
    Frost when cool.
