Date Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. butter
    4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 box dates
    1 Tbsp. white Karo
    pinch of salt
    2 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation
    Cook milk, sugar, Karo, salt, butter and dates until it will form a soft ball or 1 mark above soft on candy thermometer. Remove from heat; add nuts and vanilla.
    Beat until creamy and stiff.
    Divide into two pieces on damp thin cloths.
    Roll out rolls.
    When cool, remove from cloth and wrap in foil.
    Slice in thin pieces.
