Carrot Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 medium carrots, sliced
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 small onion, chopped
    1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    2 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    dash of pepper
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. crushed Ritz crackers
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. American cheese slices
Preparation
    In medium saucepan, steam carrots until tender; drain and set aside.
    In a medium saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons butter and saute onion until clear.
    Combine flour, milk and spices.
    Add to onion and heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
    In a small skillet, melt 3 tablespoons butter and add cracker crumbs, tossing to coat. In a 2-quart casserole, spread half on the carrots, then half the cheese; repeat.
    Pour sauce over all.
    Sprinkle with crumbs.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
